Don RohanDon Rohan
Assistant Administrator, Operations

Don Rohan joined the Dallas Police and Fire Pension System (DPFP) as Assistant Administrator for Operations in January 2001. Don has more than 20 years of experience with pension plans, including 15 years with ASRS (Arizona State Retirement System). As Assistant Director for External Affairs and Manager of External Operations for ASRS, Don primarily was responsible for communications and relationships with employer members of the ASRS, the state legislature, federal regulatory agencies, and other outside groups. In this capacity, he played a central role in the formulation and interpretation of policy and statutes governing the ASRS and was the principle author of several ASRS publications. Don also served as manager of the Member Services Division of the ASRS where, among other responsibilities, he oversaw the distribution of benefit services to ASRS members. Prior to his public service, he served as a trustee on three different Taft-Hartley trust funds for the electrical contracting industry.

Don holds the CPE (Chartered Pension Executive) designation from the National Society of Pension Professionals. He has been active in the National Council on Teacher Retirement (NCTR), National Association of State Retirement Administrators (NASRA), National Conference of State Social Security Administrators (NCSSSA), and the International Foundation of Employee Benefit Plans (IFEBP). He served as President of the NCSSSA from 1999–2000.

Don was a Finance and Accounting Officer in the U. S. Army, leaving the service with the rank of Captain. His education includes a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology and a Master of Business Administration degree, both from the University of Pittsburgh.
